Catherine E. “Kitty” Whitehead, 63, died October 24, 2015, in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Catherine was born in Hartford, Connecticut, and was a resident of St. Lucie County since 1977, coming from Hartford, CT.
She was a model in the fashion industry, volunteered at Victory Children’s Home and, as well as with many other organizations helping others. Catherine also loved traveling, shopping and raising her children, which were her life. She courageously battled an autoimmune disease the last decade of her life, never giving up.
Survivors include her husband of 19 years, Asa Whitehead of Fort Pierce, FL; sons, Robert Gorman (Jennifer) of Munich, Germany, James Gorman of St. Cloud, FL and Shawn Gorman of Palm City, FL; daughter, Alane Gorman of Fort Pierce, FL; sisters, Theresa Breaux of South Windsor, CT, Patricia Kiernan Verderame of Southington, CT and Mary Kiernan of East Hartford, CT; brother, Harry Kiernan of Los Angeles, CA; five grandchildren: Catherine Taylor, Caley Gorman, Lucy Gorman, Caitlin Gorman and Shawn Gorman, Jr. She is preceded in death by her brother, James Kiernan and sister, Peggy Thomas.
