Ada Coats Williams
Ada Coats Williams, 93, dies September 5, 2014 in Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
Mrs. Williams was born in Okeechobee, Florida, but lived in Fort Pierce all her life.
Ada was a graduate of Florida Southern University. She was an active member of Indian River Presbyterian Church, where she was a Dean, Stephens Minister and Sunday School Teacher. Ada was an Author, Play Write, Local Historian and had been a Drama and Speech Teacher. She Produced and Directed “Along These Waters,” a local outdoor drama. In the 1950’s she had a weekly radio program on WIRA Radio Fort Pierce about Pioneer Families. She was a Democratic State Chairwoman and she was also very involved with the Saint Lucie County School Board. Prior to retiring she was a professor in the English department at Indian River State College.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Harold S. Williams, Sr., of Fort Pierce, FL; Daughter and Son-in-law, Robyn C. and Foster Wright, of Fort Pierce, FL; son, Hal Williams, of Fort Pierce, FL; grandchildren, Beth Farinacci, of Fort Pierce, FL, Christine Molle, of Key West, FL, Dane Williams; great- grandchildren, Brittany Willems, Dylan Farinacci, Jon Farinacci, Katie Farnacci, all of Fort Pierce, FL and Sage Feldman, of Stuart, FL; great- great grandson, Cain Willems, of Fort Pierce, FL. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffry Williams.
