BLANKENSHIP – Adrian Gerald (Jerry) Blankenship, 77, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away peacefully, on November 23, 2017.
Born in El Dorado, Arkansas, Jerry spent much of his childhood in Brazil, where his parents were Baptist Missionaries and church builders. Those years had a great impact on him and he spoke fondly of those experiences. He attributed his love of God, beaches, hammocks, cast nets and surf-fishing to his formative years spent in Brazil. After returning from Brazil, he finished high school at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, VA. He attended the University of Tennessee and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He spent his business life in sales and entrepreneurship in various endeavors.
Preceded in death by his parents Adrian Emory Blankenship and Edith Marie Hall Blankenship. Jerry is survived by his sons, Michael Garrett (Dawn) Blankenship of Galloway, Ohio, Robert Douglas (Sheila) Blankenship, of Navarre, Florida.; Grandchildren Kyle Garrett (Lindsey) Blankenship of Blacklick, Ohio, Colin Dennis Blankenship of Los Angeles, CA., Michael Casey (Kristina) Blankenship of Gahanna, Ohio, Quinn Hunter Blankenship and Samantha Victoria Blankenship both of Little River, SC.; Great-Grandchildren, Kaden Garrett Blankenship and Kennedy Jane Blankenship; Mother of his sons, Carolyn S Blankenship; Siblings, Beverly (Tom) Bradley of Abington, VA., Charles Hall (Helen) Blankenship of Jacksonville, Florida, Jon Emory (Dru) Blankenship of Graham, NC., Daniel Gene Blankenship of Jacksonville, Florida, Carl Brent (Leigh Ann) Blankenship of Brooksville, Fl, along with many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his special friend and partner, Diane Steiden.
A family gathering will be held in remembrance at a future time.
