Agnes Sonja Bergh Lashua, 96, died peacefully in her home with her loving daughters by her side July 15, 2014 in Port St. Lucie.
Agnes was born in Lynbrook, LI, NY; raised her family in Farmingdale and moved to the Treasure Coast in 1973. The daughter of a merchant sea captain, she sailed the Caribbean with her father. As a professional singer, she traveled on the road with her vaudevillian brother, Stormy. Agnes loved boating off Long Island; gardening, reading, crosswords, Scrabble, classical music & show tunes, baseball, cats. She amused everyone with her sharp, dry wit.
Survivors include daughters, Sonja (Michael) Fagan of Manhattan, NY; Nina Lashua of Pt. St. Lucie; niece, Karen Bergh of Brooklyn, NY; nephew, Jeb Bergh of Huntington, NY. She is preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, James Lashua; brothers, Bjorn Bergh & Storm Bergh.
Services: Cremation under the direction of Haisley Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Memorial
Visitation is Mon., July 28, 7-9 pm at Flinch & Bruns Funeral Home, Lynbrook, NY. Interment July 29 at Greenfield Cemetery.
