Sgt Albert "Al" Nelson Hallonquist

Albert “Al” Nelson Hallonquist, 67, of Stuart, Florida passed away at his home on September 29, 2020.

Albert was born on November 25, 1952 in West Palm Beach, Florida to Albert and Josephine Hallonquist. He was raised in Fort Pierce, Florida. In the early 80’s, Al moved to Martin County and in 1982 married Lynnette Bell. They would raise their family in Martin County.

Al was a proud graduate of the Florida Air Academy in Melbourne, Florida. After high school, Al dedicated his life to law enforcement and family. He started his career as an Officer on the Fort Pierce Police Department, followed by a tenure with the St. Lucie County Sherriff’s Road Patrol and in the Detective Bureau. In 1983, he started working as an Investigator with the District 19 Medical Examiner’s Office; retiring in 1985 as Chief Investigator. Al would spend the rest of his career with the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department, retiring in 2001 as a Sergeant. Al was also an Investigator for the State of Florida Licensing Division.

Al was a Space and Aviation enthusiast. He enjoyed organizing events; such as Spacefest. His greatest love was his family, and he enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren.

Survivors include wife of 38 years, Lynnette Hallonquist of Stuart, FL; son, John and Laura Hallonquist of Salisbury, NC; daughter, Tamara and Paul Moyer of Palm City, FL; son, Nelson and Dana Hallonquist of Los Angeles, CA; daughter, Jaclyn and Mike Lutz of Indiantown, FL; grandchildren, Blake Hallonquist and Josephine Hallonquist, both of Salisbury, NC as well as Huxley Lutz and Thatcher Lutz, both of Indiantown, Florida.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4 from 4p to 5p; with a service to start at 5pm at the Haisley Funeral Chapel 3015 Okeechobee Road Fort Pierce, Florida. A reception will follow the service. Inurnment at will take place at White City Cemetery at a later date.
