Albert C. Sanowskis passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2008 in Port St. Lucie.Mr. Sanowskis was an inventor and an engineer. He held patents worldwide. He was best known for his invention of the mechanical push button door lock which he patented in 1946. He and his family moved their door lock manufacturing business from Chicago to Fort Pierce in 1972. Mr. Sanowskis had a lifelong love of boating. He was an active member of the Pelican Yacht Club, Fort Pierce Yacht Club and the Power Squadron.He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ann Sanowskis of Ft. Pierce, FL and a son, Albert J. Sanowskis of Ocala, FL.Memorial contributions may be made to the Treasure Coast Hospices, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.Services: Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2008 from 1-2 PM with a service to follow at 2:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home.
