Albert Ortiz Jr., 87 of Fort Pierce, Florida died on January 20, 2018 at Hospice of the Treasure Coast.
Albert is survived by his wife, Monserrate where they shared 60 years of marriage, three children: Glenda Ortiz (deceased), David (Rhonda) Ortiz, Victoria (David) Lucas. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Gabriel Ortiz, Seth Vayda, Cameron Ortiz, Leelynn Ortiz, Olivia Ortiz, Anabella Ortiz, David Lucas Jr. and Jacob Lucas, one nephew: Herbert Guy Patron and two nieces: Gail Patron Pantoliano and Marlinda Parton Spark.
He was born in Manhattan, New York on May 9, 1930. He enlisted is the United States Army in 1950 having served during the Korean War, earning several metals in the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 17th Airborne division until 1953 to which he served in the Army Reserve until 1959.
Albert worked for Grumman Aerospace Corporation where he retired after 25 years of service. He enjoyed refinishing furniture, loved to ride his bicycle and travel.
Albert is preceded in death by his daughter: Glenda Ortiz, father: Alberto Ortiz Sr., mother: Josephine Velez Ortiz, and sister: Sally Fichtenmayer.
The viewing will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Haisley Funeral and Cremation Service, located at 3015 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce, FL. The funeral services to follow.
Interment immediately following the service at White City Cemetery located at 3800 Sunrise Boulevard, Fort Pierce, FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of the Treasure Coast, 5090 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981.
