Albert C. Weber

Albert Charles Weber, 85, of Cherry Valley, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on August 14 after a long illness. He was born on December 26, 1930 in Queens, NY to Agnes (Maher) and Theodore Weber. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Eugenie (Clarke); daughter Arlene Sword (Mike) of Girdwood AK, son Richard (Lisa) Weber of Fort Mill, SC, daughter Suzanne (John) Angarola of Port St. Lucie, FL, and many nieces and nephews. Albert was very proud of his seven wonderful grandchildren, Jeffrey and Natalie Sword, Alyssa, Christopher, Rachel, and Marina Weber, and Ryan Angarola. Al is also survived by brother Theodore, sister Irene (Schnetzer), brother Charles (Karen), and sister Diane. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert (Catherine).

Al was sports enthusiast and avid outdoorsman. In his youth be played football, basketball, and baseball and as a Boy Scout learned to camp, canoe, and fish on Lake George, NY. A Korean War veteran, Al served in the Signal Corp where he handled critical messages from the front lines via homing pigeons. Al was a proud 37 year employee of Pan American World Airlines at JFK Airport where he served as Service Control Manager and worked two years for Delta Airlines before his retirement in 1992. He loved to fish for trout and hunt for whitetail deer and turkeys and enjoyed the camaraderie of friends and family in the woods or on lakes and streams. He was a die-hard fan of the NY Football Giants and NY Yankees, and enjoyed the many championships both teams won over the years. As the grandchildren came along, he never missed an opportunity to teach them the way of the outdoors, how to cast a rod or pull back the bow.

He was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cooperstown, NY.
