Alfonso “Ricky” Calero, 88, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida passed away on August 31, 2020 surrounded by his family.
Alfonso was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador to Alfonso Calero and Yolanda Martinez. He arrived in Port Saint Lucie in 1991, after the untimely parting of his beloved wife of 35 years. Before moving to Port Saint Lucie, Florida he spent many years in New York and New Jersey building his machine shop and forging a fulfilling life for his family.
Alfonso immigrated from Ecuador with a nothing but a few dollars in his pocket and a resilient spirit.
This resilient spirit, determination and boisterous personality drove his zest for life. Amongst life’s challenges; his outlook was to strive forward with an upbeat attitude and a sense of humor. He was a free-spirit and enjoyed a variety of hobbies which included, building and flying radio-control airplanes, as well as motorcycling. He was an avid lover of music and movies.
Alfonso was known to have a profound, steadfast love for his family and provided a steady foundation for his loved ones. He was a force to be reckoned with and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include his four children; Jacqueline Villacres, Alfonso Calero, Dominique Calero and Alex Calero; grandchildren; Ingrid Deiser, John Villacres, Jr and Monica Jacobson; and his great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Myrna Calero.
Alfonso’s family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 2pm at Haisley Tribute Center 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd Port Saint Lucie, FL 34984.
