Alice Mae Whidden, 91, passed away September 6, 2015 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
She was born on Oct. 5, 1923 in Ft. Pierce Florida, daughter of the late Fate and Rosa Williams. She married the late Maxie Whidden in August 1941. Alice spend nearly her entire life in Ft. Pierce. Over the years she worked for Diana Shops, TreeSweet Citrus and the St. Lucie County School System.
Upon her retirement from the school system Alice worked at St. Anastasia in Ft. Pierce in their after school program, where she loved looking after children. In later years, she became a part-time resident of Alleghany County in N.C.
Alice loved spending time with family in their small home in Blue Ridge Mountains during the summers, doing gardening, cooking and making new friends. She loved animals, going to the beach and playing piano for church and family.
Alice is survived by two children: a son Robert Terrell Whidden of West Palm Beach, and daughter Donna Curry and husband Tommy of Ft. Pierce, as well as grandson Trevor Rhoden, wife Buffy, and great-granddaughter Kelsey Rhoden of Alabaster, Alabama.
Visitation is on Wed., Sept. 9th from 10-11 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM at Palm Vista Church of God, Fort Pierce. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of St. Lucie County, the Alzheimer's Association or Palm Vista Church of God in Ft. Pierce.
