Alton D. Wilburn
Alton D. Wilburn, 86, passed away on February 10, 2024 in Vero Beach, Florida.
Mr. Wilburn was born on July 04, 1937 in Fort Worth, Texas. He served in the United State Air Force and was stationed in Dover, Delaware. He was also a long-standing member of the Masonic Lodge. Alton worked as a long-distance trucker for over 45 years with P.I.E, BJ’s Trucking Co., and finally Yellow Freight Trucking Co. before he retired. He was a member of Teamster Union for most of his career.
Alton loved cars! He owned many cars throughout his life, with his favorite being a Cadillac. Additionally, he had quite a collection of toy cars that he had displayed in his home. Alton had a favorite pastime of going to sing Karaoke every week. Everybody loved him! His favorite songs to sing were anything from Johnny Cash, “Take It Easy” by the Eagles, Alan Jackson, and “The Rose” by Bette Midler.
Alton is preceded in passing by his parents, Raymond and Imogene Wilburn; his sisters, Norma Keyser and Carol Pritchard; his brother, Larry Wilburn; his son, Richard R. Wilburn; and his wife, Barbara A. Wilburn.
He is survived by his son, Steve A. (Laurie) Wilburn of CA; his daughters, Kimberly A. Cope of CA and Monica L. Argila of FL; his grandsons, Richard R. (Mariselda) Wilburn of NC, Christopher A. Wilburn of TX, Brentten C. (Elisa) Wilburn of CA, Mason Argila, and Maxwell Argila; granddaughters, Melissa (Kevin) Welu of CO, Stephanie (Jeff) Falterbauer of PA, Marybeth (Jason) Powell of AL, Lacey Cope and Joelle Cope of VA; fourteen great-grandchildren, Austin, Eric, Jadyn, Ray Lee, Gia Marie, Hailey, Chase, Zachariah, Zephaniah, Zebediah, Easton, Emilia, Wyatt, and Gracelynn; and one great-great-grandchild, Brantley.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Riverview Memorial Park in Fort Pierce, Florida.
