Andre Dorismond, 89, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida passed away May 4, 2018 in Miami, Florida.
Andre was born on October 10, 1928 in Port- Au -Prince, Haiti. His parents were the late Carmen Bruno and Marcel Dorismond.
Andre was married twice in his lifetime. His first marriage was to the late Jacqueline Roland in Haiti. Together they had three handsome sons; Pierre Antoine Dorismond, Charles Andre dorismond, and Jhony Dorismond.
His second marriage was to the late Marie Rose Dorismond, together they had 2 beautiful children; Marie Andree Dorismond and the late Patrick Dorismond.
Andre left behind not only his children, but also 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Andre was the oldest of 7 siblings leaving 1 surviving sibling.
Andre was gifted with a beautiful soft voice. He became an icon as a great musical artist in Haiti. He started his musical career early in his young adult life. Music became his full time career in Haiti. He played in two prestigious bands: Nemour Jean-Baptiste and Weber Sicot Orchestra.
These two bands were the top bands in Haiti at the time. Andre's voice played everywhere in Haiti. He played in concerts, night clubs and most of all recorded albums.
Andre always had a smile on His face, showing off his dimples, especially when he heard great music. He loved his family and his friends.
A gathering will be held on May 19, 2018 from 2PM to 4PM with a service to begin at 4PM at the Haisley Tribute Center 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd Port Saint Lucie, Florida 34984. A reception will follow the service.
