ANN “Deedie” CLAXTON SIMS
Ann “Deedie” Claxton Sims, 85, died March 8, 2012 in Vero Beach, Florida.
Deedie was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and was a resident of Fort Pierce since 1952, coming from Fort Smith, Arkansas.
She was an active member of St. Andrew Episcopal Church and President and Director of the Alter Guild for many years. She was a member of PEO Sisterhood, Chapter AR, Lawnwood Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, Daughter of the King and member of Council on Aging.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions go to scholarships for women whose education has been interrupted, PEO, Chapter AR c/o Anna Toulson, President, 95 Cache Cay Drive, Vero Beach, FL 32963.
Survivors include her sons, David C. Sims, Jr. of Des Moines, WA and Buford S. Sims, Sr. of Vero Beach, FL; daughter, Sandra S. Eichelberger of Gaithersburg, MD; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Derek Sims.
A Service will be held on Sunday, March 11th at 1:00 PM at St. Andrew Episcopal Church. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens.
