Arabelle Pearl Dawson, 97, passed away August 6, 2016 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mrs. Dawson was born in Coshocton, Ohio and moved to Fort Pierce in 1961 coming from Ohio.
She was a long time 5th grade teacher at Lawnwood Elementary and White City Elementary Schools.
Arabelle was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church of Port St. Lucie, FL, Church, Women United of St. Lucie County, WELCA and Women’s Ministry of St. Andrew Church, lifetime member of Zeta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Iota, Teacher’s Sorority, lifetime member of Retired Educators of Florida and St. Lucie County and Treasurer of Indian River Estates Citizens on Patrol of St. Lucie County.
Survivors include her daughter Darlene Dawson of Fort Pierce, FL; daughter-in-law, Myra Dawson of Clermont, FL; grandchildren, James (Jennifer) Dawson of Apopka, FL, Matthew (Theresa) Dawson of Casselberry, FL, and Nathan Dawson of Tampa, FL; great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Syerra, and Abigail; and her dear friend, Janet Glenn of Fort Pierce, FL. She is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Franklin Dawson, sons, Merlin and Calvin Dawson and daughter-in-law, Virginia Dawson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hemophilia Foundation of Greater Florida, Winter Park, FL or to St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Port St. Lucie, FL or to Treasure Coast Hospice, Fort Pierce, FL.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Port St. Lucie with a service to follow at 12:00 PM in the church. A reception will follow the service at the church. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
