Audrey M. Napp, 85, a 21 year resident of Ocean Village, Fort Pierce, FL. died on September 21, 2012 at Treasure Coast Hospice House.
Audrey was a graduate of Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. She served as Dean of Gulf Park College in Gulfport, MS. from 1963-1966 and was a History Professor at Cumberland County College in Vineland, NJ. from 1966-1991. During her teaching career she served as a Fulbright Fellow in the Netherlands and an NEH Fellow at Princeton University. An ardent traveler, Audrey enjoyed more than fifty trips abroad. Her community activities included Chapter President of AAUW; Club President of Zonta International both in Vineland, NJ. and Southern FL. chapters. In Fort Pierce she was a 10 year volunteer at the Ft. Pierce Visitor Center, supporter and volunteer at the Sunrise Theatre and a Main Street supporter. Audrey served the Ocean Village POA as secretary for 9 years and served as President of AWOL women’s organization and leadership offices in other Ocean Village organization.
Beloved daughter of Frank S. and Merle A. Napp (deceased) of South Orange, NJ; fond sister of Robert Napp (deceased); aunt of David Napp (deceased).
Survived by and will be sorely missed by sister-in-law Dorothy Napp Johnson; niece Nancy Clymer; nephew William Napp; and grandnieces Christina Napp, Monica Napp, Molly Napp, Audrey Napp, and Alexandra Clymer all of Deerfield, IL. She is also survived by loving cousins Richard and Helen Boyd of Ocean Village who cared for her daily for many months and numerous other cousins in New Jersey.
