Aurora Villanueva Barrera, 68, died September 15, 2007 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.Mrs. Barrera was born in Narvacan, Philippines and moved to Ft. Pierce 25 years ago coming from Butler, Pennsylvania.She was a midwife in the Philippines, first editor in Midwifery Magazine, graduated magna cum laude from midwifery, obtaining many awards. She was a medical technologist and medical cytotechnologist and also managed the office for her husband’s practice in Fort Pierce.Survivors include her husband, Rodolfo Barrera of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughter, Rhodora Caplin of Miami, FL; sons, Rommel Barrera of Gainesville, FL, David Barrera of Flagler County, FL and Romeo Barrera of Melbourne, FL and 4 grandchildren.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3375 20th Street, Suite 100, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
