Barbara Jean Hartley

Barbara Jean Hartley passed away to her heavenly home on February 4, 2014.

She was born April 1, 1928 in Vallonia, Indiana and graduated from Vallonia High School. She lived there until 1963 until relocating to Fort Pierce with her husband and two children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Roxie Weddell, brother, Ray Weddell and his wife, Joan and husband of 36 years, Randal Hartley who passed in 1985.

Survived by son, Mac Hartley and his wife, Krista; grandsons, Eric Hartley and wife Dawn Hartley, Brian Hartley and fiancé, Sara Lewis, Hayden Hartley and Alex Costner; also survived by her daughter, Vera Jean Verdel and Fiancé, Loy Maze; Vera’s two children, Vanessa Brown and Joshua Moore. Vanessa has Barbara’s three great-grandchildren, Coral Jean, Mauricio, and Nellie.

Barbara was employed by the St. Lucie County Tax Collectors Office for 35 years until her retirement. Her position was Administrative Assistant to the Tax Collector, Jo Conrad.

Barbara loved spending time with family and will be remembered as the cornerstone and foundation of her loving family.
