Barbara Baker Platts

Barbara Baker Platts passed away peacefully on April 11, 2017 in Fort Pierce, Florida, surrounded by her family. She was born in Orlando in 1933, and moved to Fort Pierce in the sixth grade
where she met her husband of 64 years, Norman W. Platts.

She was a graduate of Fort Pierce High School class of 1951 and attended the University of Florida. Barbara was a past member of Chapter AR PEO and Poinciana Garden Club. She loved gardening, flower arranging and church activities. Her love for Christ and family was the center of her life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

In addition to her husband Norman, she is survived by her seven children, Jenny Price and husband Chuck, Bobbi Rives and husband Gordon (Linsey, Brooke, Daniel), Kathi Forget and husband David (Traci), Parker Platts and wife Debbie (Ansley, Brenden, Kylie), Bill Platts and wife Heather (Harrison, Pierce), Jon Platts (Jonathan), Tara Price (Brittni, Josh, Kayla), and five great grandchildren. Barbara is preceded in death by her granddaughter Jo Beth Price.

The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Monday, April 17th at Haisley Funeral Home, 3015 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce. A funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, April 18th at Fairlawn Baptist Church, 3003 Rhode Island Avenue, Fort Pierce. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. Barbara loved flowers, and friends are welcome to send them or make memorial contributions to Fairlawn Baptist Church.
