Barney C. Hendrix, 78, died May 10, 2012 in Vero Beach, Florida.
Mr. Hendrix was born in Hartford, AL and moved to Ft. Pierce 60 years ago.
He was the superintendent of Grove Caretakers Inc. for 36 years and also worked for the St. Lucie County Parks & Recreation Department. He was a former member of the Okeechobee Moose Lodge, Northside Christian Fellowship, Oleander Church of God and Pondtown Methodist Church in Hartford, AL.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Shirley of Ft. Pierce, FL; son, Buford of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughter, Rosalee of Sharon, OK; sisters, Carolyn Detrick of Twin City, GA and Lavada Merritt of Panama City, FL; 4 grandchildren, Thomas, Jessica, Jed, and Zach; 1 great-grandchild, Cameron. He was preceded in death by his son, Marty.
Services: Visitation will be held on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 12-1 PM with a service to follow at 1:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
