Pastor Basil Allen, age 84 went home to be with the Lord at his home in Port St. Lucie, Florida on February 4, 2019.

Basil was born on June 22, 1935 in Clarendon Parish, Jamaica. As a young man, he emigrated to the UK where he was a welder by trade. He married and had two daughters Veronica and Delpha and eventually moved to America and settled in New York City. He met and married Evelyn and they remained married for nearly 35 years until his death.
While in New York, Pastor Allen pastored Port St. Lucie Tabernacle Church of God until he and Evelyn moved to Florida in 1992. He continued to pastor the church in Florida where he encouraged everyone he met to come and join them in worship. He had a heart for the lost and was well known in the community for telling people about his precious Savior Jesus Christ. Although we mourn his loss we know that Pastor Allen is thrilled to be in the presence of his Lord until we see him again in Glory. Praise the name of our God!
Pastor Allen loved the outdoors and his garden and many who knew him will remember the mango trees and how generous he was in sharing mangoes with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn, his daughters Veronica and Delpha Allen, his grandchildren Ashton Allen and Tia Allen Morgan, his siblings Jacqueline Allen, June Allen, Cynthia Allen, John Allen, Donald Allen and Leslie Allen, Nieces Jemelia Scott and Brittania Baker, many other nieces, nephews and cousins as well as a host of other family, colleagues and friends.
