BERTINA de MULDER De SISTO
Bertina De Sisto, 88, passed away on January 5, 2013, in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Bertina was born in Barcelona, Spain, on May 16, 1924. She spent the first half of her life on the Island of Malta, Portugal, Holland, Argentina and Uruguay, and has lived in Fort Pierce since 1974, having come from Miami. She received her education mostly in the first three countries. She graduated from the Montessori Lyceum in Amersfoort, Holland, and attended the Berlitz School of Languages and Moore School of Languages also in Holland. She spoke seven languages and spent the majority of her life teaching, translating and writing. She worked for five years as secretary/interpreter for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Montevideo, Uruguay. She went on to teach English and Christian Education and become principal of Crandon Institute, in Salto, Uruguay. In Miami and Fort Pierce, she served as bilingual secretary at Allapattah United Methodist Church and Community United Methodist Church, and in Ft. Pierce worked for two years as a copy writer for a local radio station. One of her greatest pleasures throughout her life was corresponding with her family and friends all over the world.
Bertina is survived by her children, Betty Sixto McDavid (John) and Marcelo De Sisto, all of Fort Pierce; Bertina Sixto Dew (Michael) of Kingsport, Tennessee; and Lison Sixto Maurer (Ken) of Port St. Lucie; grandchildren, Adriana, Elise and Erica Dew; Alexa Matlack and Jake Maurer; brother, Francisco de Mulder of Amersfoort, Holland, and sister, Anita Griese, of Barcelona, Spain; as well as many nieces and nephews and their families scattered throughout the world. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Joseph De Sisto; her parents, Edgard de Mulder and Emma Bonello, and brothers Enrique de Mulder and Armando de Mulder.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 11th at 1:00 PM at Community United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends before the Service beginning at 11:30 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
