Betty “Love” McCarthy, 68, died on December 8, 2021 in Vero Beach, Florida.
Betty was born on January 8, 1953 in Lynchburg, Virginia to parents Jack Vest-Cash and Virginia Charlotte Vest. She attended Central High School and Indian River Community College, before going on to become the proud owner of B&B Telecommunications for 40 years. Betty was also a member of Saint Andrews Episcopal Church. She greatly enjoyed black and white movies and cooking, and friends and family knew her to be a hardworking person who loved to help others.
Betty McCarthy is survived by her husband, William Patrick McCarthy Jr.; daughters, Shena Love McCarthy and Megan Lee McCarthy; sister, Charlene V. Whitehead; niece, Charvella Whitehead; sister-in-law, Betty Jo McCarthy; nephews, Paul Joseph McCarthy and Cole McCarthy; and grandchildren, Shawn Patrick McCarthy, Antonio Joseph McCarthy, Victoria Love McCarthy, Kierstin Lee McCarthy, Dominick B. McCarthy, and Isabella C. McCarthy. She was predeceased by both of her parents, Jack Vest-Cash and Virginia Charlotte Vest; brother, Dee Vest; mother-in-law Fern C. Olney; father-in-law William B. Olney; and brothers-in-law, Paul Henry McCarthy and Joseph E. McCarthy.
