Betty P. Sykes

Betty P. Sykes, 75, died December 10, 2006 in Fort Pierce, Florida.Mrs. Sykes was born in Sheffield, Alabama and moved to Ft. Pierce 70 years ago coming from Sheffield.She was a graduate of Fort Pierce High School. Gene and Betty owned and operated the Fort Pierce Shoe Repair as a couple for 45 years. Her life was her family. Betty also loved her crafts and loved sharing them with others.Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Barbara & Pat Langel of Ft. Pierce, FL; son & daughter-in-law, Russell & Barbara Sykes of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughter & son-in-law, Kathy & William Tanke of Melbourne, FL; daughter & son-in-law, Patty & Barron Hall of Okeechobee, FL; sister, Ellis Swisher of Ft. Pierce, FL; grandchildren, Joseph, Phillip, Anna, Patrick and Joshua Langel, Nicholas, Allison and Angela Sykes, Ryan & Sarah Tanke and Tiffany & Taylor Hall; she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Sykes.Memorial contributions may be made to the Treasure Coast Hospices, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.
