Ms. Beverly Jean Santmier (Brewer) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 15, 2018.
Ms. Santmier was born November 6, 1947, in Putnam, CT, she moved to Ohio as a child and lived most of her adult life in Florida.
She is survived by daughter Jennifer (Leon) Farineau, son Joshua Santmier, grandsons Zachary and Aidan Farineau, brother David (Nancy) Brewer, sister Ellen (Kenneth) Lont, brother Robert Brewer and sister Rebecca (Dean) Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband Dewey of forty-two years, her parents, David and Barbara Brewer, and brother Bruce Brewer.
She graduated from East High School in Portsmouth and Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga. Beverly and Dewey were married on March 27, 1975, at Faith Baptist Church in Fort Pierce. Beverly pursued her passion for investing in the lives of young people as a Christian school teacher, teaching English, typing and computers. Mr. and Mrs. Santmier taught high school students at Faith Baptist School in Fort Pierce, Beth Haven Christian School in Louisville, KY, and Florida Christian School in Miami. Ms. Santmier transitioned to working administratively for the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office in 1994 and served the community until she retired in 2008.
Ms. Santmier was most of all, a committed follower of Jesus Christ, and known for her strong moral character, sweet spirit, appreciation for the simple things in life, and love of family and friends. She was a skilled seamstress who enjoyed several hobbies: creating a variety of arts and crafts, collecting figurines, coins, sports cards and other emorabilia, shopping, reading, watching Olympic figure skating, and listening to classic country music. Beverly especially delighted in being a mother and grandmother and thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time with her children and grandchildren.
