Blanche McCaskill Wotruba
Blanche McCaskill Wotruba, 96, died September 15, 2009 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
Mrs. Wotruba was born in Merritt Island, Florida and was a lifelong resident of Ft. Pierce.
She was a retired librarian. She was a member of the Indian River Presbyterian Church, member of Treasure Coast Kennel Club, volunteer for the St. Lucie County Historical Society, member of the Eagles, member of Yorkshire Terrier Club of America, and bred and exhibited Yorkshire Terriers and Toy Poodles, showing at the Westminster Dog Show. Passions in life were her family, friends and dogs. Enjoyment was reading, traveling throughout most of the U.S. with her sisters, driving her own motor home, and touring throughout Europe with her daughter and family.
Survivors include her daughter, Jeanie Mazza of Ft. Pierce, FL; sons, Charles Wotruba of Bluffton, SC and Richard Wotruba of Santa Barbara, CA; brother, Fred McCaskill of Alabama; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Wotruba, grandson, Thomas Wotruba; sisters, Lydia Fugate, Ethmae Howard and Pearl McCaskill, and brothers, Nathaniel, Richard Earl, and Elmer McCaskill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.
Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2009 from 1-2 PM with a service to follow at 2:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park.
