Carl Robert Finer, 86, passed away at his home on September 6, 2018 in Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend Elena Finer, his daughter Karen Santon and her husband Ron, son Doug Finer, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his sons Domenic Amara and Larry Finer.
Bob was born in Boston to Alice and Harry Finer.
His service to our country as a Navy Korean War veteran was a source of pride to Bob and his family. He was a kind, loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His children and grandchildren recall with joy many days spent out on Bob's boat, "Therapy", in Boston harbor; sharing Bob's lifelong love of the sea.
A tireless worker, his mechanical ability was second to none. Seemingly, there was no project challenge he could not master. Elena coined the expression "Papa can fix anything" and everyone in the family certainly attests to her declaration.
Bob and Elena retired to Florida and the King's Isle community twenty years ago. Bob leaves behind many friends and acquaintances who have been most kind during his illness.
Bob's family requests that in lieu of flowers, charitable donations be made to The Cooley's Anemia Foundation, 330 Seventh Avenue, #200, New York, NY 10001.
A gathering will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 10AM - 11AM with a service to start at 11AM at the Haisley Tribute Center 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd Port Saint Lucie, Florida 34984.
