Carl Frederic Steiner

November 17, 1937 — September 27, 2011

Carl F. Steiner passed away surrounded by his family, his loving dogs Stewy and Mulligan and completely comforted by his faith, on September 27, 2011. He was born on November 17th 1937 and spent his growing up years in Oregon and Washington State near and on the coast.

Carl retired from the Army after 24 years where he enjoyed his passion for helicopters. He had boots on the ground in Viet Nam for two tours in the 60’s. He achieved the rank of Major after first being enlisted and then a warrant officer. After retirement he moved to Florida in 1985 where he worked for the Martin County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy (courthouse security), Martin County Probation and as a judicial assistant until his second retirement in March of 2011.

Carl is survived by his wife, Marcia Geisler-Steiner. Son, Marc Geisler and wife Renee Still-Geisler of Port St. Lucie and grandsons, Adam and Alec Geisler of Alabama and dear friend Marvin Still. Sons, Michael (Anna) of California and Darren of Vancouver, Washington. Daughters, Shanna and grandchildren, Cody, Hannah and Katie of Missouri, and Kelly and granddaughter, Elizabeth. Grandson, Ian Edward preceded him in death in September of 2006.

Carl was a member of Faith Congregational Church in Port St. Lucie where he was able to share his love of Christ with others as he ushered, welcomed new-comers on Sunday, attended Bible studies, put on numerous pancake breakfasts, belonged to the Outreach Annual Golf Tournament in which he played each year. He also assisted with communion on a regular basis and enjoyed reading scripture on Sundays.

It was Carl’s wish that in lieu of flowers, friends and family would consider making a contribution to either the Outreach Ministry of Faith Congregational Church of Port St. Lucie or to the Treasure Coast Hospice.

Services: A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Town Hall at Tradition, Port St. Lucie. Food & fellowship will follow the celebration.
