Carla Allen Livingston Mcguire

Carla Allen Livingston McGuire, loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother went to live with our Lord on Sunday, March 5, 2017. Following a two month fight to repair her health due to a
crippling fall, she asked the Lord to take her to see her husband Michael McGuire, who made the same journey in April 2014. Carla was born and raised in Newport News, Virginia, graduating from Homer L. Ferguson High School in 1965. She later met her future husband Mike and in September 1968 they married in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where Mike was a police officer. Following Mike’s retirement in 1992, they moved to Fort Pierce, Florida, where Carla worked in the healthcare industry from 1993 until her retirement in 2012. In Fort Pierce, Carla continued her own specialty cake decorating business that brought joy to many weddings and birthdays. Carla’s love of life was centered around her children and grandchildren whom she dearly loved. She is survived by her daughter Phaedra Thomas (Charles), sons Michael (Nicole), and Alan (Paige), grandchildren Charles (Sierra), Amanda, Michael IV, Caden, Alan, Aidan, Alexander, great granddaughter Maddison, brother Colonel Doug Livingston (Mickey) of Tucson, Arizona and nephews Craig Livingston of Carolina, Puerto Rico, and Brad Lamos of Tucson, Arizona. She also loved her favorite dog, Mr. Wilson. A celebration of life will be held at the family residence on Saturday, March 18th, 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian St., Stuart, Florida 34997.
