Carmen Hyppolite Manigat, 92, died April 30, 2020 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mrs. Manigat was born in Haiti and resided in Fort Pierce, Florida.
She completed her school in Haiti and worked in the National Archives at Port-Au-Prince. She then worked as a librarian in Lycee Petion. She immigrated to the USA in 1960 to New York and relocated to Fort Pierce, Florida in 1995.
Carmen was philanthropic and so versed into the fight to end violence against women and girls on March 8, 2013. She received a Certificate of Appreciation as an honor from the Amnesty International.
Survivors include her husband, Ernst Manigat; son, Patrick Eugene Manigat; sister, Marie Therese Hyppolite; nephews, Daniel Abrams, Jr., Nathaniel Abrams and Conrad Hyppolite; cousins, Bernadette Etienne and Jean-Claude Hyppolite; in-laws, Odette Byron Baptiste, Claire Byron, Yvonne Byron, Jacqueline Byron St. Surin and Christian St. Surin; host adoptive in family, Chantal Leonce Pierre.
Burial will take place at White City Cemetery.
