Carmine R. Iorio

November 28, 1935 — June 10, 2017

Carmine R. Iorio, aka “Pop”, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 in Fort Pierce, Florida. He was 81 years old.

Carmine was born in Brooklyn and moved to Port Saint Lucie, Florida in 1986 from Long Island, New York.

Carmine was a U.S. Army Paratrooper during the Korean Conflict and then worked for the New York City Transit until he retired. He loved people and especially loved kids. After moving to Port Saint Lucie, Carmine drove tour buses where everyone that met him was immediately drawn to his easy laugh and friendly personality. He was a diehard Mets fan, a softball player and an avid bowler.

But his true passion was his family. Carmine came into the lives of his stepchildren later in life but the love that bound them together for nearly 36 years was so deep that anyone would think they were his own. The joy and love that was their experience for so many years will never be forgotten and from here on will be deeply missed. So many years filled with so many memories and experiences that will forever be treasured. You will be terribly missed Pop but you will live forever in our hearts and memories. The greater the love the greater the loss and this loss feels incredibly huge. It isn’t possible to put into words all the emotions and all the love that was shared for so many, many years but we hope you can take the love we hold for you in our hearts on this next journey and may you always know how deeply loved you are by your wife, children, family, and friends…..
