Carol Simons Miller passed away peacefully July 22, 2016 at Lake Forest Park eleven days shy of her 95th birthday.
Carol was born in West Hampton Beach, NY to William and Fannie (Waldo) Simons and grew up in Rockville Centre, NY. There she married Warren (Bud) Miller and had three children. The family moved to Ft. Pierce, FL in 1963 coming from Camillus, NY.
She and Bud operated a custom decorating business for 17 years in the Tri County area after which they continued using their talents and opened Shade World.
Carol was a 44 year member of Cora Stickney Harper Chapter of DAR serving in many capacities. She was a member of The Pilot Club and served as their President.
She cherished her St. Andrew's Episcopal Church where she attended for 53 years. She loved her Altar Guild work and being a member of the Daughter's of the King. She used what she called her God given talents to design, sew and oversee the remaking of all the liturgical hangings, banners and vestments.
Carol also loved oil painting primarily for her family. Those paintings are treasured by them!
She leaves behind her daughter Nancy (Bart) Plymale, Arcadia, FL, a son Steve Miller, Ft. Pierce FL, daughter-in-law Chris Ebner Miller Keating, Niceville, FL and a sister Adelaide Gordan McDowell, Denver, CO; five grandchildren, Pam Miller (John) Ottesen, Niceville, FL, Jay (Michele) Miller, Asheville, NC Jim Miller, Aiea, HI, Matt (Jess Shoupe) Plymale, Arcadia, FL, Ben (Jerry Mathers) Plymale, Bellingham, WA; and four almost five great-granddaughters, Clare and Anna Beth Ottesen, Amina and Lily Miller and due in Sept. Josephine Plymale. Also four nephews, Pete Simons, Noel and Graham Gordan, Paul Petit, and two nieces Carla Stewart and Holly Soles.
Carol was preceded in death by her son Jeff and husband of 58 years Bud Miller.

A Memorial service is planned for August 13, 2016 at 11 AM at St. Andrews Episcopal Church with a reception following in the parish hall. Burial will be in the Church Memorial Garden.
