CAROL JOAN MOORE, 77, of Fort Pierce, Florida and Fayetteville, NY, passed away on December 14, 2013.
Carol was born in Minersville, Pennsylvania on June 10, 1936. She graduated from Minersville High School and received her nursing degree from Easton Hospital Nursing School. Carol worked as an RN for many years, beginning her career in Stroudsburg Pennsylvania and ultimately at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital in Syracuse where she became the Director of Operating Room services and remained in that position until her retirement.
Carol greatly enjoyed golf and spending time with friends. She was a member of Onondaga Golf & Country Club in Fayetteville, New York and Meadowood Golf & Tennis Club in Fort Pierce, Florida. She will be remembered by her friends and family as someone who loved life and lived it well with grace, charisma and genuineness. She loved people with sincerity and was blessed with close intimate friendships, which enriched her life. Her friends and family will miss her dearly but know she lived a fulfilling and satisfying life as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Carol is survived by her sister, Dorothy Suskey, her sons, Jeffrey Scott Wood and John Charles Wood Jr., and daughter Patricia Ann Moore. She is also survived by her step son, Roy S. Moore and step daughter, Dr. Melissa Brown. Carol is survived by her thirteen grandchildren: Jeffrey Wood II, Zachary Wood, Michael Timmerman, Morgan Timmerman, McKinley Moore, Matthew Thompson, Dale Daley, Dane Daley, Heather Krengel, Heidi Leiske, Katie Brown, Maxwell Moore, and Roy S. Moore IV, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The memorial service and calling hours will be held at Meadowood Golf & Tennis Club at 9425 Meadowood Drive, Fort Pierce, Florida 34951 on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Haisley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Morningside Cemetery in Syracuse, New York where she will be placed alongside her late husband, Dr. Roy S. Moore.
