Carolyn D. Sanders
Carolyn D. Sanders, affectionately known as Nani, Nanners, Mother and Nan, passed away on June 14, 2023 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mrs. Sanders was born on November 12, 1935 to Ira Leroy & Dosia Elizabeth Davis in Margarettsville, North Carolina.
Carolyn attended Conway High School, Chowan College, East Carolina University, Old Dominion University and the College of William and Mary. She was a member of the Westside Church in Fort Pierce. She loved children, playing the piano, playing backgammon, adored flowers, but most of all spending time with her family.
Survivors include her sons, George (Katie) Vanderslice of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Randall (Maritza) Vanderslice of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Kelli Kraaz; grandchildren, Hans Edward, Hunter & Halston Kraaz, and William & Morgan Vanderslice; great-grandchildren, Grady & Gunner; brother, Wayland (Song) Davis of Destin, FL; sister, Shirley (Bob) Lewis of Virginia Beach. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years, Arthur Frederick Sanders, loving mother, Dosia Elizabeth Jones, father, Ira Leroy Davis, sisters, Sylvia and Jean, and brothers, Ralph, and Randolph Davis.

Services: A service will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Westside Church, Fort Pierce. Live streaming services will be provided by Westside Church. A reception will follow at the Pelican Yacht Club. A private burial will take place on Thursday at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Florida. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. An online guest book may be signed at www.haisleyfuneralhome.com
