Catherine M. Eucker

Catherine (Cathy) Eucker of Fort Pierce, FL and Rupert, VT died suddenly March 6, 2010 at her home in Fort Pierce.

Cathy was born August 5, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York. Her early years were spent in Brooklyn and Long Island, New York.

She was a graduate of the University of Maine; Cathy earned a Masters degree from SUNY Stony Brook. She was awarded a fellowship by the International Institute of Education and the Government of Mexico to study Spanish at the University of Nuevo Leon in Monterrey, Mexico. Her passion for foreign languages, Spanish in particular, led her to become a Spanish teacher. She taught for more than 25 years in the Smithtown, NY school system. During this time, Cathy worked lovingly with her students encouraging them to explore other cultures.

Cathy was an avid reader, a gourmet cook, a true history buff and world traveler who enjoyed visiting new places and exploring foreign cultures and languages.

Cathy was a loving person and will be sorely missed by her many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, March 12, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Anastasia Catholic Church. Interment will take place in Rupert, VT.
