Cecil E. Lofton
Cecil E. Lofton, aka: “Uncle Gene” or “Gene, Gene the Walking Machine” passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 with his family at his side. He was born on March 29, 1946 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He attended Sunnyland Training Center in Gainesville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Maxine Lofton as well as all his siblings, Louise, John, Jolly and Joseph. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Jack Staley of Fort Pierce, his niece, Ann Harsha (Mike) of Fort Pierce, nephew, Andrew Nethery (Linda) of Port St. Lucie, nephew, Randall Nethery (Peggy) of Vero Beach, niece, Amy Magliarditi (Michael) of Fort Pierce, niece, Kimberly McFarland (Gary) of Tampa, nephew, Timothy Lofton (Dena) of Winter Haven, nephew, Steven Lofton (Kim) of Tennessee, niece, Alicia Mayer (Terry) of Delaware and nephew, Robert of Delaware; 28 great nieces and nephews as well as 20 great-great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the ARC of St. Lucie County.
