Celeste Ann Lenihan-O’Doherty April 6, 1934-December 17, 2021

Passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family.

Celeste, Mom, Nana, Gigi was predeceased by her parents Leander and Celestine Faber Queens, NY; her beloved husband Eugene O’Doherty; her brothers, Leander, David and Frederick Faber; her sons Edward and Stephen Lenihan; and her son in-law Bill O’Connor.

Celeste is leaves behind her beloved and loving children Jean O’Connor, Mary, Michael, Joseph and Paul Lenihan, and their spouses, 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and one on the way.

She is also survived by her brother Paul Faber and sisters-in-law Virginia, Mary and Beverly Faber.

Celeste was a champion tennis and platform tennis player at the Stamford Yacht Club, and Ft Pierce, FL. There wasn’t a bocci game, shuffleboard or pickle ball match that she could turn down. Table games like Mexican train were never to be missed.

While fiercely competitive in challenging activities, Celeste was a kind and gracious woman.

She will be missed by her entire Ocean Village family especially the great relationships with her AWOL gals.

Celeste was a devout Catholic and servant of God, a Eucharistic minister, celebrating her faith daily with Fr. George and Fr. Michael, St .Anastasia Roman Catholic Church, Ft Pierce, Florida and the wonderful church community.

As a volunteer she contributed time and effort to Rotary international and Hospice organizations in Connecticut and in Florida with Treasure Coast Hospice.

A Mass in her honor will be celebrated on January 10, 2022, at 10am at St Anastasia, Fort Pierce, Florida followed by a memorial service in Connecticut at a later date.
