Charles Montgomery Armstrong passed away peacefully at his home on September 29, 2019 in Port St. Lucie, FL. at the age of 83.
Charles was born on October 10, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY to Charles Montgomery Armstrong and Viola Fitzpatrick Armstrong.
Chuck worked for Xerox Corporation in Rochester, NY and Stamford, CT for thirty years as Risk Manager, before his retirement. After moving to Florida in 2003 he became a devoted member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Fort Pierce serving the Lord in many different capacities. Chuck is a member of the Diocesan Board of Central Florida and is the President of the Southeast Deanery.
Monty, Ace, Lucky Chucky, Charlie, Chuck, & Pop-Pop are some of the nicknames given by friends and family which directly correlated with his charismatic, jubilant, and extremely kind personality. He knew how to light up a room with his ability to strike a conversation with anyone which always resulted with smiles and laughter. Appreciating the importance of family, he cherished time spent with his recent great grandchild, grandchildren, children, and nieces and nephews. He was always up for playing a game, especially cards and the famous name game. He will be greatly missed, constantly loved and never forgotten.
He is survived by his loving wife; Carol C. Armstrong of Port St. Lucie, FL, daughters; Kathleen M. (Robert, Sr.) Yacucci of Wilmington, DE, Barbara N. (James) Labbe of Hudson, NH, Audrey E. Brunetti of Fairfield, CT, sons; Charles M. (Sherri Steale) Armstrong, III of Debary, FL, and Jairo A. (Diane) Armstrong of Orlando, FL, sister; Ann M. Armstrong of Port St. Lucie, FL. Sisters-in-law, Nancy (Maurice) Clark; Connie Clark, brothers-in-law; Charles (Nancy) Clark and Douglas (Linda) Clark; grandchildren; Robert Yacucci, Jr., Michael Yacucci, Patrick (Jessica) Labbe, Daniel (Mariah) Labbe, Elise Labbe, Quentin Brunetti, Nathan Brunetti, Gadiel Hernandez, Stephen Lighthouse and Alex Lighthouse; great grandchildren; Porter Labbe and Aubrie Lighthouse; nieces and nephews; Jeremy and David Cease; Carolyn, Cristin, Charlie, Kim, Jenny, Heather, Bob, Allie, and Weston Clark.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 210 S. Indian River Drive, Fort Pierce, FL with a Celebration of life on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM also at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
