Charles Albert Fonnett, 91, died March 3, 2015 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Fonnett was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to Fort Pierce in 1955 coming from Dunbar, West Virginia.
He retired from Flowers Bakery in 1982 and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was stationed at the Fort Pierce Amphibious Navy Base. He was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. He loved being outside in the yard, refinishing furniture, and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Muriel Alford Fonnett of Fort Pierce, FL; son, Ronald (Yvonne) Fonnett of Orlando, FL; daughter, Patricia (Clem) Townsend of Fort Pierce, FL; grandchildren, Joshua (Tonya) Sorensen of Port St. Lucie, FL, Ryan (Sara) Fonnett of Orlando, FL, Jeremy (Stacey) Fonnett of Orlando, FL and Kelsey Fonnett of Washington, D.C.; great-grandson, Kaiden Sorensen of Port St. Lucie, FL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ernest & Richard Fonnet, sisters, Delores King Schrump and Eileen Dusci, and parents, Ernest & Angela Fonnet.

Services: Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Fort Pierce. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park. A reception will follow the service at the Haisley Funeral Home Reception Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
