Charles A. McCullough went home to be with the Lord on February 27, 2016. He would have you believe that the hole on his stomach where an Indian had shot him with an arrow had finally taken him. Or perhaps he would say that his talking horse Dollar decided to ride off in the sunset with him. There were many stories he loved to tell but the truth is that his body finally said “enough”. He fought hard against a multitude of ailments for so many years with a loving wife (Karen), daughter (Karrie, husband Barry), grandchildren (Felecia, Ashley, Nate, David, Seth, Sam, Sarah, Hope), great grandchildren (Bentley and Elyn), and so many faithful friends by his side.
Before his Florida years, he ran a successful heating and air conditioning business in California, lived on a sailboat, traveled the world as a dance host, and dreamed of having a family. His dreams became a reality when he met and married the love of his life Karen, who came with a daughter and grandchildren. He and his love decided to move to the sunshine and since then he has remodeled many homes, worked on projects for his church, continued to travel, played dominos with friends, drank a great deal of coffee, and ate way too many circus donuts for a diabetic to admit.
Charles has lived a full life, he came to know God while attending Westside Baptist church and grew to Love the Lord with the encouragement and testimony of the men and woman that make up this church family. He has now gone home to join his Mother (Ruby McCullough), Father (Chester Andrew McCullough), and Sister (Alice Ann McCullough) who went before him. Although we are sorry to see him go, we rejoice with him now that there is no more pain or sorrow, instead only the joy of being healthy and whole.
Services in his memory will be Wednesday March 2, 2016 at West Side Baptist Church, Calling hours beginning at 10am and service at 11am.
