Charles DeArmond “Chuck” Price
Charles DeArmond “Chuck” Price, 70, died August 13, 2022. He was born on February 6th, 1952 and was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce. Chuck was the owner and operator of Price’s Holiday Marine Service where he became known as a true boat repair craftsman, noted for his attention to detail. He was a member of St. Lucie County pioneers, the Summerlin Family. Chuck had a deep appreciation of his family history in St. Lucie Village, along the Indian River Lagoon.
Chuck attended Dan McCarty High School in Fort Pierce and Indian River Junior College. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and deployed to Vietnam where he earned two Purple Hearts and a Vietnamese Gallantry Cross.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Summerlin Price of Fort Pierce; sister Lucy Folbrecht (Melvin) of Fort Pierce; brother, Ben Price of Fort Pierce; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jenny Platts; daughter, Jo Beth Price; father, George D. Price; brothers, David “Lump” Price and Denny Price.
A casual celebration of life will be held for family and friends at St. Lucie Village School House, September 24, 2022, 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Covered dishes are welcomed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saint Lucie County Historical Society or VNA Hospice.
