Charlie was a great guy, an easy to get along with and a friendly out-going person. He and his recently deceased wife Elizabeth were married for 33 happy years. They moved to Florida three years ago after spending a number of years in cold Vermont. Charlie was an avid “baseball nut” who had an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the sport. As child growing up in Brooklyn and later Hicksville, NY he was a Giants fan. After the team moved his loyalties shifted to the Mets.
He received his degree from Hofstra University and his master’s degree at SUNY Albany. He worked with AMF as an internal auditor and spent many years preforming audit related functions for the firm that involved extensive travel in the country and overseas. On one trip to Japan he purchased his brother’s fine china service and on trips to England he purchased Toby mugs for his aunt. Subsequent to AMF he worked for Century 21, finishing his career with the accounting firm Deloitte and Touche as a Certified Public Accountant.
After he retired he still had the bug to help people and worked part time with William Sonoma, and was the “maple ice cream man” at the Vermont state fair. Throughout his life he kept in contact with an extended family, friends from his youth and former co-workers. He spent his summers relaxing on Lake Champlain.
Charlie will be missed by a large community of people who have come to know and love him. May he rest in peace with his beloved wife. He is survived by a brother, Don, sister-in-law Lillian, two nephews (Donald, Jr. and Edward), three grandnephews (Andrew, Trevor and Henry), and his mother in law Geraldine Weiss and countless friends.
