Cheryl Lynn Sereg, a cherished figure in the hearts of many, was born on April 25, 1947, in Poughkeepsie, New York. She graced this world with her loving spirit and kind demeanor for almost seventy-seven years, until her peaceful passing on March 20, 2025, in Port St. Lucie, Florida. She married her beloved Eugene, in Poughkeepsie, NY on July 1, 1963.
A manager in the banking industry, Cheryl exemplified professionalism and commitment, attributes that earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. A woman of faith, Cheryl will be greatly missed by the congregation at Liberty Baptist Church. She was a testament to the blessings of compassion, warmth, and unwavering support
Cheryl's educational journey began at Poughkeepsie High School, where her vibrant personality began to shine. Beyond the workplace, she cultivated a rich tapestry of interests, including the art of crochet—a pastime that brought her joy and a profound sense of relaxation.
As a mother, she imparted wisdom and kindness to her children, nurturing their dreams.
Cheryl leaves behind her devoted husband of 61 years, Eugene Sereg. She was a loving mother and will live on forever in the memories of her children: daughter Karolyn (Carl) Beatty, son Carl G. Beatty, and daughter Sarah Lynn Beatty, all from Port St. Lucie, FL. Cheryl will forever remain a guiding light for her beloved grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Louis O'Dell and Sarah Place, and her siblings—Mildred, Anna, Phylis, and brother Louis.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at Liberty Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, Florida, on March 29, 2025. Friends and family are invited to gather at 10:00 a.m., as they share in honoring Cheryl Lynn Sereg—a truly remarkable soul whose memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
