Chris Wilkerson, 91, passed away January 15, 2020 in Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
Chris was born in Miami, Florida to Bahamian parents but was reared and educated in Nassau, Bahamas. He returned to Miami twenty years later to enlist in the United States Army where he served as a tank commander during the Korean War.
Chris moved to Denver, Colorado after serving in the War. He joined the Denver Police Department where he enjoyed an exemplary career of twenty-six years as a police officer, retiring as a captain and district commander.
Upon retirement from the force, Chris was appointed to the Colorado Commutations and Pardons Board as vice chairman as well as to the Colorado Parole Board as chairman by the then-Governor, Lamm. He finally retired to Florida where he enjoyed sailing, fishing, and engaging in daily polemics.
