Clara Rojas, surrounded by her loving family, passed away on October 27, 2021.
She was wife of 58 years to Jaime Rojas; Mamita to Jaime Rojas, Jr.; Clara Ines Rojas-Sebesta and husband, John; Cristina Young and husband, Chris; and “Buela” to Aidan, Heather, Vivian and Grace.
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Clara moved to New York as a newlywed and raised her three children in Brentwood, Long Island. She moved to Florida in 1995, living in St. Augustine and later in Port St. Lucie.
Throughout her life, family and faith always came first. A devoted parishioner at St. Anne’s and St. Lucie Catholic Churches, and staff member at Catholic Charities, she selflessly gave her time and talents in service of others.
Clara played soccer in her early years on Long Island and participated in aquacise here in Florida. She also loved playing cards and dominoes with friends. She made everything more beautiful--whether tending to her gardens and houseplants, lavishly decorating her home for Christmas and other holidays, cooking incredible meals, or creating fanciful celebrations for friends and family. She brought joy to every gathering.
She left a deep and loving imprint in the hearts of all she knew, and is remembered as a bright light, deeply kind and compassionate, with an ability to make all who met her feel that they were the most special person in the world. Through her strong faith and example, she reminded us all to have a grateful heart, for all of life’s many blessings.
Our angel is in heaven now.
Funeral mass to be held at St. Lucie Catholic Church 290 NW Prima Vista Blvd Port St. Lucie, FL on Monday, November 1st at 11:00 am.
