Clara Geneva Yates
Clara Geneva Yates, age 79, has passed away at home after an extended battle with breast cancer. Born in Douglas, Georgia, the homemaker has lived the past 65 years in Fort Pierce. She was preceded in death by her son Casey J. Yates and husband Clifton Y. Yates.
She is survived by her companion, Walter (T.C.) Basham; son Sam and Marie Yates of Jensen Beach; daughter Connie and Charles Waters of Fort Pierce; son Carlos and Wanda Yates of Cherokee, North Carolina; and son Clay and Lisa Yates of Fort Pierce. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

A private family service will be held at Haisley Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Pierce on Tuesday August 28, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park.
