Clarence Hersey, 91, passed away on February 23, 2005, in Fort Pierce, FL. He was born in Nichols, GA, and came to Fort Pierce when he was 7 years old.He was a citrus grower. He traveled extensively throughout the USA, and Canada, visiting Alaska 7 times. He never met a stranger and had a lot of friends who loved to sit with him and hear the stories of his travels. He served in the US Army during WWII, seeing action in the Philippines. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church on Jenkins Road. His grandchildren knew him as “Daddy Anna”.He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Velda Warnock Hersey of Fort Pierce; his daughter and son-in-law, Peggy & Huie Campbell of Fort Pierce; his six grandchildren, Vikki Perkins, Daryle Campbell, Brian Campbell, Blane Hersey, Michelle Austin & Lee Hersey, all of Fort Pierce; and 7 great-grandchildren.
