Clayton Hardin Hampton
Clayton H. “Clay” Hampton, 82, died March 10, 2020 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Hampton was born in Borden, Indiana and moved to Fort Pierce in 1955.
Clay retired as Master Chief E9 in the US Navy after 22 years. He also taught electricity & electronics classes at Fort Pierce Central High School and was the owner/operator of Hampton Appliance Service. He was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing and fixing things instead of buying things new. He was proud of his family, especially his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Claudia Hampton of Fort Pierce, FL; daughters, Shellie (Jeffrey) Stafford of Fort Pierce, FL and Julie (David) McGarity of Columbus, NC; brother, Kelvin “Kelly” (Marie) Hampton of Fort Pierce, FL; sisters, Sherry Sue (Edward) Eichin of Fort Pierce, FL and Karen Lynn (John) Vascellaro of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Timothy Stafford of Fort Pierce, FL, Claudia Rose McGarity of Fort Pierce, FL, Benjamin McGarity of Columbus, NC and Christopher Stafford of Fort Pierce, FL; and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dual and Martha Hampton and sister, Virginia Tomlin.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 from 1:30-3:00 PM with a service to follow at 3:00 PM at Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery, Fort Pierce.
