Charles Clayton Powell, 72, died October 28, 2009 in Clayton, Georgia.
Mr. Powell was born in Vero Beach, Florida and moved to Ft Pierce in 1958.
He attended Grace Family Church in Port St Lucie, served in the US Army for 2 years, and worked as a tax preparer in accounting. He was a member of the Optimist Club of Ft Pierce and Treasure Coast Official Association. He loved sports of all kinds.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years Jean Powell of Ft Pierce, FL; daughter Dede Powell of Clemmons, NC; son Dr. Clay Powell (Angeli) of Tulsa, OK; mother Ruth M. Powell of Vero Beach, FL; sister Dorothy Gene Grenier of Vero Beach, FL; brothers Robert Daniel Powell and Ralph Allen Powell both of Vero Beach, FL; granddaughters, Grace and Victoria Powell and grandsons, Christian Powell and Matt Phillips.
Services: A visitation will be held Friday November 6, 2009 11 AM – 1 PM with a service to follow at 1:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. A guest book may be signed at www.haisleyfuneralhome.com
