Clem Oliver Rhodes Jr
Clem Rhodes of Vero Beach Florida passed away on Friday, March 14th, 2025. He was born on July 27th, 1932 in Norfolk, Virginia to Clem and Mary Rhodes.
Clem was raised in a meager lifestyle but managed to co-op with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as he attended and graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He met the love of his life, Marjorie Faye Miltier, at the shipyard and they were married for 71 years! Clem worked for Chrysler Missiles (Hense he always called himself a rocket scientist), LTV and Martin Marieta where he retired as the Director of the Multiple Launch Support Rocket System that is still heavily in use today by the US and its allies to protect our freedoms.
Clem was a family man who provided and protected his family and cultivated lasting friendship wherever he and Faye were. He loved telling inappropriate jokes, smoking cigars and making sure everyone who came by the house had a drink.
Clem is survived by his wife Faye Rhodes, daughter Tracey Ellegiers, sons Craig Rhodes (Darlene), Brett Rhodes (Kristi), grandchildren Austin Rhodes (Amanda), Cooper Rhodes, Courtney Geromin (Pat) and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 28th, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Haisley Funeral Home in Ft. Pierce, Fl. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm with a Celebration of life beginning at 2:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Research Bright Focus Foundation or Tunnels to Towers.
