Clyde Lester Russell

Clyde Lester Russell, 64, died August 17, 2010 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.

Mr. Russell was born in Harriman, Tennessee and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1957.

He graduated from Dan McCarty High School, Class of 64’, received his Bachelors degree from the University of West Florida, and his Masters degree from Florida State University. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Vietnam War, member of the VFW, member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church and was a very involved former member of Community United Methodist Church before converting to Catholicism. Prior to retirement, he was the principal of John Carroll High School. He coached track, baseball, Babe Ruth baseball and American Legion and was inducted into the St. Lucie County Sports Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Diane J. Russell of Ft. Pierce, FL; sons, Brian (Debbie) Russell of Birmingham, AL, John (Steffanie) Russell of Gainesville, FL and Ed Russell of Washington, DC; and two grandchildren, Taylor Russell and Kaitlyn Russell.
